Sewing for Beginners
A hands on course designed for people who have little or no knowledge of sewing. One garment of your choice will be undertaken as a practical project in a fun and creative atmosphere. Learn how to follow a pattern, basic customising of the pattern, make the corrrect fabric choice and learn some tricks of the trade.There is a $15.00 materials cost for this course which is payable to the tutor on the first night. Flavours of India
Learn to prepare a range of new and delicious vegetarian dishes, snacks, main meals and curries. Have a tasty feast at the end of each class. Special attention will be paid to the preparation of different types of curry paste. Main curry recipes include: aloo matter, sukhi (dry) dal fry, baingan (eggplant), bhartha, dum aloo, paneer manpasanda and pindi channa. Learn how to make different types of fresh bread; roti, pranthe and puri. Other special dishes include idly, rice biryani and sambhar from South India. A materials fee of $50 is payable to the trainer on the first night. Bring your own apron, tea towel and knife.

The Vivacious Vegetarian

They reflect a range of international flavours including Mexican, Middle Eastern and Italian, and will appeal to even the most hardened meat lovers! Recipes include such yummies as brie and leek tart, semi dried tomato and leek frittata, savoury polenta cake, roast vegetable and pesto flans, and corn and sweet pepper cakes. Picture Framing Workshop
This workshop gives you the chance to have a go at hands-on picture framing in a professional picture framer's studio. Learn the techniques of mat cutting, glass cutting and picture framing. Come along and gain some new skills in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Bring a selection of items - photos, cards, certificates, paintings, etc - to frame. Most materials for framing will be supplied but there may be extra material costs depending on your choice of work to be framed.
