  • Tai Chi & Qigong - Beginner to Intermediate

    Tai Chi Qigong is an excellent way to improve your strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination. At the same time, the physical practices bring wonderful benefits and balance to your mind and emotions. In the classes you will practise feeling the gentleness, softness and slowness of the beautiful movements, breathing and visualisations. Your muscles and joints will relax, and the energy of body and mind be opened. An inner feeling of peace and calm arises in your awareness. The class is suitable for all. Come, have fun and play with Tai Chi.

  • Beginners Tennis (Rusty Racquets)

    Friendly professional tennis coach Amanda Mead will teach you the important strokes and techniques so you can enjoy a basic game of tennis with your friends. It's also a great way to get fit and socialise. You'll practise forehand, backhand, serve and volley, game play and movement, and then put it all together for a final burst of competition. By the end of the course you should be able to produce a more than passable serve and string a nice array of shots together. So polish up your inner champion and get down to the courts!

    This course is for the beginner or those wishing to remove the rough from their game. The beginner will learn simple ways to acquire the basic skills of golf and the more advanced player will learn how to refine their technique. All types of shot making from driving to putting will be covered. Phil has 30 years' experience as a qualified golf professional. Bring your own clubs or use those available from the Teven Golf Course. Green fees ($10.00) are an extra cost payable on the last day.(No concession)

  • Athletics for Adults

    Do the words themselves bring you out in a sweat? Don't panic! This course is about fun as well as fitness. The inner athlete lurking inside every couch potato will be gently coaxed out with a weekly range of warm ups, stretches and exercises. There'll also be a different focus every week, starting with an assessment of each participant's preferred event then moving on to running-based events, jumping and throwing, and the final "medal" session. Get fit and fabulous! There's no age limit, but as always, if you haven't exercised for years or have any health issues, check it out with your doctor first.
